Bowling with Mom and Dad!!

Last night I went bowling with some girlfriends. Of course I had my trusty bowling bag and shoes, and my multi color ball with my name on it (It was a 15 lb) ball :0
I think I pulled a muscle just picking it up. Those were the days. Anyhow I digress (sp?)
I was looking through my bag, that had the weirdest stuff in it, and I came across this score card of a time that Bill and I went bowling with Mom and Dad. I can remember the day, Dad did NOT want to go, he said "bowling isn't a sport!". But we dragged him kicking and screaming. We ended up having fun. What I noticed was that Mom and I had been on multiple bowling leagues, and take a look at our scores. If you click on the picture you can see it enlarged. Also look at the price of the entire evening!!! That included our shoes. What I also noticed was that Dad took score, and if you look, on my score he had put hearts all over my score, that was a awesome gift I got last night. My entire evening was filled with thoughts of Mom and Dad, and the fun everyday things we did when I lived with them. I just thought I would share this with all of you. It makes me so proud of all their children, because we have all kept up the tradition of loving our children and making them our priority. I now see it in all Mom and Dad grandchildren, they all adore their children, count them as blessings, and we all collectively share in the joy of all their births. We are a unique and special family. I love you all.....(I know I sound kinda dopey right now, but I sure do appreciate our family)

Our day trip to a winery to celebrate MLK, Jr.'s BD

Bill and I drove the Hurtle Mill, North Carolina today!! If you blink you will miss it. It has a gas station and store, that looks like the one on Mayberry!! Really cute, and quite pretty. Anyhow, once you hit Hurtle Mill, you drive another five or so miles into the country (we weren't in the country already??) and you come upon this beautiful winery. Quite hilarious, if you think where you actually are. It was so beautiful, all the floors done in beautiful limestone, and every surface was covered in granite or marble. They are way ahead of their times. Why it was built there was because the owners inherited the land from the mans Dad, it has been in their family for generations, so he decided to start growing grapes, he went to Vintenier school, and then built this winery. As you can imagine on this cold, cold day we were the only people there, so we had the undivided attention from the lady pouring the wine, it was delightful talking to her about the area. Anyhow, that was our afternoon.

Bills bird feeders he tried to squirrel proof, hahaha!!

High tech. It is totally cool. He built it for my Christmas present to keep squirrels away. It is about 12 feet high, and he built pulleys into it so I could lower it to fill with seed. Quite clever that husband of mine.

Old pictures of our trip to Oatman, Nevada!

Okay for those of you who do not know about Oatman, here is your history lesson.
Oatman was a old mining town in the 1800's. It was a booming town in the middle of the hot, hot dessert. Miners brought their donkeys to carry their wares, and whatever. Well after the mining dried up, they just left the town of Oatman, leaving their sweet donkeys behind. The town is a ghost town now, but you can go see the old hotel, and the saloon (that is where we are sitting with everyone in the picture). It is amazingly perserved, I think because not many tourist visit, because it is truly in the middle of nowhere. The donkeys are all desendents of the original donkeys/mules that were left here abandoned. They just roam the streets and are very friendly. They have a person that takes care that the donkeys are cared for, and the tourists, can feed them carrots. It was a great day. We had been at Laughlin on the Lake Mojave boating around, and we all decided to go to Oatman to visit, I know we were all glad we did. Oh, it was only about 115 degrees that day. I hope you liked that history lesson.

Snowy winterland in Raleigh, North Carolina!

Okay, honestly, it only lasted a few hours, it dusted the ground and bushes, but it still snowed, and it was beautiful. To sit at our dinner table eating dinner, and looking out at the snow falling was very memorable. Enjoy!!

SNOW??? OH MY GOODNESS!!!

They say we will be getting snow tomorrow!!! I am so scared to even think about it, I don't want to jinx it. Can you imagine, snow in my own yard. Sitting at my kitchen table watching snow?? Getting the mail, and walking in snow?? My dogs out playing in the snow?? I am so darn excited. I wish I had a camera to take pictures of it. I will let you all know how it goes. Hey, I do have a question. They said we will be getting two to three inches, is that a lot??? Like will we be able to drive in it. Remember, NC doesn't have snow machines, so roads don't get clear, will that matter???

I AM SOOOOO EXCITED. I know I will never sleep tonight, I will be jumping up and checking the window to see if it is snowing. Keep positive thoughts that we get snow.

No pictures, I lost my camera!!!!

Hi everyone. I lost my camera, I cannot believe it. So you just have to read my well thought out words of wisdom. I do hate the thought of buying another camera, I can tell you that.
If I do buy one, does anyone have a recommendation??
