Okay everyone!
I am opening this forum up to all of you,
I think we need to start planning a family
reunion.
Where? When? How?
Please think it over, and please jot down ideas of yours
and lets see if we can get a good thread going.
Love you all, and we MUST have a reunion, because
we have to "Stick ta'gether"

Freezing cold morning!

I was going to work one morning, and it was about 34 degrees out.  So when I passed this lake, the warm water, with cold air made this really cool mist on the water.  So I turned off to take a picture, and I started sliding on the wet grass, I thought the car was going in, but it stopped sliding and I was able to get out and get this picture.

Mr. and Mrs. Poole

This is Mr. and Mrs. Poole.  They are volunteers that work in our office, when we need things like, putting labels on envelopes or stuffing programs, that kind of thing.
They are the greatest couple.  I look forward to seeing them everytime I have them come in.  I just wanted to share them with all of you, because they are one of my treasures.

Where, when and how??

My darling family and friends;

I am taking a survey on where everyone will be for Thanksgiving, who they will be with, how far you are going to be there.  I will start:

Bill, Patrick, Caitlyn and I will be leaving early Thanksgiving morning for Centreville, VA.  It is about four hours from our home.  We will be visiting Rick, Cindy and Andrew Donnelly.  I cannot desribe how excited I am.  Patrick is very excited because he wants to spend a day in D.C.   I am keeping my fingers crossed that it might snow.   Just spending time with part of our family will be all the blessings I am looking for.

So now it is your turn, come on spill the beans, where are you going to be???????????????

Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina

Bergers on the Blue Ridge Parkway, NC
We made it up to the mile high swinging bridge, and alas, it fogged over and was cold!!

Our Campsite

The three brave Bergers, made it to the top of Split Rock.

Well the Bergers spent the weekend, in Grandfather Mountain and Boone, NOrth Carolina. It was a great weekend. That area is definetly one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited. The Blue Ridge Parkway is amazing. The weather was crisp and clean, and the time together was great. We have decided that will be a yearly trip for us. Bill wants to bring his Harley and we will drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. Patrick decided he wants to come and rough it, not be in the Fifth wheel. Caitlyn is happy to travel in the Fifth Wheel. We had great fires every night (the girls made the first fire of the weekend) and had smores and just enjoyed being together.

More pictures of Memorial

Our trip to Jersey for Toms Memorial

Three of Tom and Claires Grandaughters (Lindsey, Emily and Caitlyn)
The fleet that took Tom to his Lake!!
Sitting on deck enjoying time with family.

It was a wonderful memorial. We scattered Toms ashes on the lake he loved so much. He could spend hours just staring out at "his lake". It was bitter sweet that day, wonderful to have the family all together, but so sad that Tom wasn't with us to enjoy it.

The canoe race

Our trip to Amish Country and Amandas wedding

We had a great time at the wedding of Amanda and Eric Kruse. They had activities for Thursday and Friday, and the wedding was on Sunday. Thursday they had a big pig-pickin party at the Kruse property, it was wonderful seeing all the Andersons again. AFter a wonderful dinner we had spectacular fireworks that probably lasted more than 30 minutes. The best part was watching the fireflys, because the Andersons had never seen them. The next day we got up and met in the town square of Downingtown, PA (where the Kruse family lives). It was beautiful. Anyhow, they had enrolled Caitlyn and Patrick to enter a canoe race, with about sixteen other wedding guests. So as you look thru the pictures it will be in the order of our activities. Then on Saturday was the wedding, which of course we danced until our feet were numb.

My first Hail Storm

It was an amazing storm!!!

Campground at Lake Kerr

That is our campsites back in those trees.

Lake Kerr

Bill and I went with another couple for the three day weekend to Lake Kerr. It is an amazing lake, huge and beautiful, full of little islands, and beaches. It goes all the way into Viriginia. It was fun, one day we hauled butt, and went into Virginia, I called Ricky and left him a message saying I was on a lake in Virginia. He called back and left me a message and said "I am on a lake in Virginia also". It was an amazing lake, so we have decided that will be our home lake. We have stored our fifth wheel, and will store our boat there for the summer. It is about 55 minutes if I drive, and about 1 hour and fifteen minutes if Bill drives. :)

I hope some of my family will come to visit and take a trip to the lake with us.

Lake Jordan - Eagles Nests

This was a trip to Lake Jordan, a lake about 40 minutes from our house. It was cool seeing the Eagles Nests, Lake Jordan is one of the breeding grounds for the American Bald Eagle.

Big crack; little crack!!

I didn't notice this picture till after I had posted the other one. Patrick, look at your future!!!

Together for 50 years.

This couple asked if we would take their picture and send it to them, their camera was out of batteries. 50 years ago, they had gotten married and made a mark on the trunk of a
little cherry tree, they found the same tree 50 years later, and here they are. He worked for Nasa in DC back then. Just thought I would share this sweet story.

More pictures from Patrick and Ashleys visit.

Both pictures from above are at the most wonderful
Irish Pub that we found in DC.

Lizzy enjoying the Cherry Trees in our Capitol.

This picture does not do it justice.
