Pig Heaven!!

I had two big brawny men working in my back yard at the same time yesterday. Bill and his little chipper, and Shawn (the gardner) tearing up our lawn and reseeding it. Can't get much better thing to look at then that :)

I didn't think my yard would change color!!

One of the oak trees that I didn't think would color!
Our street looking from the house.
View from front porch!!

My first try at poaching eggs!!

I am 49 years old, and never made a real poached egg. My Mom used to make them for my Dad all the time, but I never tried it, because it looked to messy and difficult.
Well today, I decided to do it, and it was fairly simple. They were cooked perfectly.
Anyone for some eggs???

Bachelor

Okay, we are down to the last two. ONe is Jenni and the other.....I cannot remember her name.
Anyhow, for those of you who watch it, who do you think will win??? Or who do you wish would win???

I want the other girl, even though I cannot think of her name right now. I think she is so awesome, pretty, honest, straight forward, and she will be loyal and a great Mommmy.

By popular demand!!

Mary and Cassandra requested pictures. Alas, we went everywhere and didn't bring our camera. All we have is our last morning, we frantically started taking pictures. So I cannot show you where we went and what we did.

As for food, hmmm..... On Saturday night, Bill made Prime Rib, but by the time we

had eaten, we were kinda full on appetizers and food we had eaten all day.

Cindys favorite place

If we ever found ourselves looking for Cindy, we knew to find her on the porch. As you can see by the picture, she had her own heater, because it got down in the 30's and she was out there, smoking and reading her book. Crazy woman. Friday night, I stayed up until 3:30 AM with her talking and drinking champagne, and when I went to bed, I realized that my entire back was frozen solid. It took me a hour wiggling around in bed to get the feeling back in that area. Ugh.... Please note Cindys feet, she bought actual croc's. I found the fashion queen wearing "knock offs" and I shamed her into buying the real mccoy. I think they are the most amazing and comfortable shoes. Now at the same time, they are one of the ugliest shoes in the world as well, I figure when you get close to 50, comfort takes first place over looks though :)

Rick and Cindys visit to North Carolina!

It was a wonderful visit from Rick and Cindy. They came late, late Friday night, and left Monday morning. I cannot say we did anything earth shattering, but it was fun just being
together. I have come to realize that I am not the best person to visit, because I can never
think of what to do, or where to show people. I was better in CA, so I guess, I am still so new
to North Carolina, that I need to pick "in spots" to visit with our guests.

Anyhow, it was fun having them here. Ricky updated my computer like crazy, because I messed it up pretty bad. (BTW Rick, it is working lickety split this morning).

The four of us went to "Streets of Southgate" it is a really pretty mall in Durham. That was fun, except I kept catching the guys trying to light themselves on fire whenever Cindy would find another store to go into :)

Men and their power tools!!

Paul Bunyon

Well Bill has started his thining of our woods.
Already we get more light in the backyard then before, and it looks good.
I asked that he clear a good space for me to build a fire pit with chairs all
around it, and so if you look at the one picture with the little clearing, that
is the future land for our firepit, entertaining area.

Thank goodness, life is kinda settling down!!

Life here is starting to feel kinda back on kilter. Between Bills Dad passing away, having my Brother Tim here for a week, and most of my friends evacuated due to the horrific fires in CA, needless to say, life has been like walking on eggshells.

Bill is still sad, of course. All my friends are back in their smokey filthy homes. Timmy is back safe and sound and had his caterac surgury and it went fine.

I can sit back and enjoy having my best friend/husband home with us. He and I spend most of the mornings looking for jobs, and the afternoons, playing at doing yard work, or some other chore.

Here in North Carolina, we give a big "shout out" to Maisy Tait Herman. Welcome sweet baby girl, to your family!!! I personally feel you made a good choice in families, but that is only your Aunties opinion. Cannot wait to meet you.

That is about it for us for now. Just wanted to touch bases with you all.....

Love to all!!
