We are back safe and sound!!

The lake at the Lake house, in New Jersey
Tim, Liz and Bill in front of Cindy and Ricks lake house.
Lake house in New Jersey.
Hello everyone;

We got home safe and sound. We sure couldn't have done it without Tim. He helped us in so many ways, thanks Timmy.

It was a sad trip, but at the same time, we found blessings in our family in New Jersey. Tom Berger married into a great family. Very warm and loving. They made us feel as one of them, even though not a drop of blood is shared by any of us. It is a weird how close I have always felt to Bills "steps".
Claire is Toms wife, Stephen is Bills brother, and Suzie is Bills sister. Stephen is married to Kim, and Suzie is married to Robbie. I have pictures of them but it isn't on this camera. I will post them later.
I wish I could have gotten a picture of the swans on the lake. I counted, and there were over a hundered on the lake.

Tom Berger Passed away this morning

Bill and Tim got into North Carolina late last night, and Tom passed away this morning around 4AM. Bill is in shock, he missed him by one day.

Anyhow I don't know what is happening, but I will keep you posted.

Update on Bills Dad

Okay, he is doing much better. He is having a trac put in, because he is having problems with his throat, but his heart is doing better, and his diabedies is stablized.

Bill and Tim will be here tonight or tomorrow, and then we head for Virginia to drop Timmy off with Ricky and Bill and I will head for New Jersey. Bills Dad is very excited to see Bill.

So if anyone is looking for me, I will be in New Jersey until about Wed.

Bills Dad

Some of you know that Bills Dad is in critical condition. Bill left a couple of weeks early, to make the trek across so that he can see his Dad. He is hauling butt trying to get here, and bless Tims heart, he is trucking right next to him.

I got a very sad call today from Toms wife, Claire. Tom is not doing so good. His left lung is filling up with blood, and they are taking him into surgery this morning.

Please pray that Tom holds on until Bill gets here. It would be so cruel if something happened to Tom as Bill is making his pilgrimage to see him.

Bill and Tim on the way to the Carolina's!!

They left this morning around 6:45 from Santee, CA.
They plan on taking five days to make it across country.
Bill is in the truck towing the fifth wheel.
Tim is in a Penske truck that is carrying, the Harley and the Waverunner, and it is towing the pontoon boat. So they are moving kind of slow. Not as slow as a covered wagon, but pretty close.
Please keep them in your prayers that they have a safe trip.

Is this the start of Fall, or another trick???

My porch
No color change

Today I woke to a chilly morning. I start my day with Bible study out on my back porch every morning. Today, I needed a robe and slippers!! The wind is whipping around, and it is nippy and fresh smelling. I hope this is the real McCoy and not just Mother Nature teasing us again.

Drinking coffee while nature is at its peak is one of lifes great enjoyments for me.

Do you ever think how egotistical a blog is??? I mean, I am writing about me, my life, my thoughts as if any of you are chomping at the bit to read about me. I just enjoy it, but mostly I love to read the other blogs our family has created.

Niki is coming to visit tomorrow and spend the weekend with us, I am very happy about that. We (Caitlyn and I) as most of you know go to bunco once a month, and it fell on Saturday night this month (Bills 50th Birthday), so we are dragging Niki to our night out on Saturday. What she doesn't know is that Caitlyn has gotten some of her girlfriends together, and they are all taking Niki out on the town after bunco!!! Poor Niki!!

Some pics from the trip

Okay I don't know how to put labels on these so I will just explain.
- First two are of Cassandra and I sitting out front of her house watching the kids play in the street with their millions of friends!!
- Next is of Cassandra and Maisy.
- Cassandra and Hank in front of a neat candy store on the wharf in Cincinatti.
- A fall picture of the side of the road, while driving 80 MPH!!!! =0
- Of Niki in her new house in West Virginia. She just got a job as a news anchor of a CBS affiliate in WV. She is on the morning and afternoon broadcasts, and sometimes the 6 O'clock news in the evening. We went out to dinner, and it was weird, because people recognized her so they pointed and whispered when we walked by. Pretty cool.

The river I came upon!!

Traveling for 9 hours by yourself!!

I have to admit, I really didn't hate it. I thought I was going to get tired, or bored, but honestly, it gave me lots of time with myself, with God and with nature. I was able to listen to my worship music loud, and sing along which believe me, isn't pretty. I was able to admire the beauty of the landscape without Bill or Caitlyn making fun of me, I exclaimed outloud how beautiful it is. I mean really, from North Carolina, into Virginia, into West Virginia with the huge breathtaking mountains covered in a tweed jacket of fall, and into the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky. How can you go wrong with that???
Amazing colors, and it is just starting. I mean, the reds are so vibrant, and the oranges and yellows. At one time I stopped to let Midge out to walk and do her business, and I was walking around and came upon a beautiful river surrounded by mountains, and nobody was even there to ruin it, people start to take it for granted around there I think. That was in West Virginia. I am going to try and show you a picture of it, but with my computer skills, who knows?? I will try.
Anyhow, I had a great weekend with Niki and with the Hermans and Taits. Fun was had by all.

Fun Family Days!!!

Good morning everyone.
We have a full house here at the Hermans today. Everyone slept well, except for Cassandra, that crazy baby of hers, stayed up all night doing the cha-cha on her bladder.

We had pancakes with berries, sausage, donuts, coffee and apples. Mmmmm.

Now we are off to Cincinnati to walk along the Ohio River, just looking around, then the Hermans found out about a Haufbrau House that is really fantastic, so we will have Lupper (lunch and supper). Then back to the beautiful mansion of the Hermans, to have a fire in the backyard, and watch the kids play in the yard.

Bye!!!
I wish I could send pictures, but I am to lame to figure it out.

Life at Cassandra and Adams

Okay here I am. Sitting in the basement of the Hermans. I have decided I am going to stay here forever. I am fed on a regular basis, I get served drinks when I looked even a little parched, and whenever I start to get bored, I get to play with three little boys. This is pretty darn perfect. Oh, I forgot, it is the coldest room in the house. I curl up on the couch with a big ol' blanket and watch Lucas play the Kentucky Bangels vs. the San Diego Chargers, and try to make him think I know what in the heck is going on. I cheer and perform cheers that I remember from High School, thinking I am so clever, he never even looks up to see how amazing of a cheerleader I am.

I am going to try and drag Cassandra out of the house to buy some fall decorations for her front yard, but alas, she doesn't seem very enthused. I am such a freak about decorating, I live for the moment I can change decorations to the next season, I assume everyone else is like that.

Last night they made an amazing steak dinner, and all six of us sat outside and ate, and talked and laughed, it was awesome. Then the boys went over to a friends to play soccer in their backyard, in the dark, and Lucas ran over to the ajoining fence and stood on the railing waving and screaming "Hi Aunt Lizzy". Tell me that isn't worth a million dollars.

Tonight we are going to have a fire in the new firepit, and bbq chicken breasts and have rice and salad, mmmmmm....... I told the boys we can stay up late and just hang out by the fire, and then we all move inside for their "Friday night movie night". They were so excited to tell me I would be here for Friday night movie night. In fact, that was the first thing Spencer told me when he got home from school yesterday.

Bye, sorry it was so wordy, but I wish all of you were here, and having as much fun as I am.
